Wolfgang Manz
Wolfgang Manz, born 1960 in Düsseldorf, is prize winner of several important international piano competitions like Leeds (1981, second prize) and Brussels (Concours Reine Elisabeth, 1983, second prize). In addition, he won 1980 in Berlin the Mendelssohn Bartholdy Prize, 1982 a second prize at the German Music Competition in Bonn, as well as 1989 at the Van Cliburn International Pianoforte Competition in Texas, USA, a special jury prize. Wolfgang Manz was born 1960 in Düsseldorf and received his instruction with the Czech Republic pianist Drahomir Toman and with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling in Hanover. In 1988, he founded with Rolf Plagge the duo Reine Elisabeith, with which he played concerts worldwide and recorded numerous CDs. In 2000 he was appointed professor at the University for Music Nuremberg-Augsburg and selected prorector in the following year. After playing a concert on Bechstein, Wolfgang Manz evaluated: "Congratulations to your new concert grand piano! Today it truly served my tonal intentions and was really inspirational!"
