Yuxing Chen

"The gradation of the different tone colors on C. Bechstein grand pianos is very subtle. This allows even very long phrases to be played out in a linear fashion and ensures the ideal fusion of pianist and instrument."

Yuxing Chen

Yuxing Chen was born in China in 1992 and began playing the piano at the age of seven. His first teachers were Jiang Hong and Yin Qing, who opened the doors to a varied musical career. With his new album Yuxing Chen delivers a phenomenal recording of two larger-than-life sonatas: both the B minor sonata by Franz Liszt, premiered on a C. Bechstein grand piano back in the day, as well as the mighty "Waldstein" sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven are executed with incredible care and creative power. The grand arches of both works, which appear mature and yet fresh at the same time, are wonderfully designed by Yuxing Chen. And of course he is excellently supported by the versatile sound of the C. Bechstein concert grand D282. A highly recommendable album!

The CD was recorded in March 2022 in the recording studio Ölberg-Kirche in Berlin.
