Anna Leyerer
Anna Leyerer is a multi-award-winning pianist who is particularly celebrated for her outstanding interpretation of the romantic piano repertoire and is also an enthusiastic interpreter of contemporary music. Her highly acclaimed debut album - a tribute to Franz Liszt - was released on hänssler Classic in February 2024. "You don't hear such an all-round fascinating debut album every day!" Anna Leyerer has won prizes at numerous international piano competitions, including the Parnassós International Piano Competition 2018 (1st prize and audience prize), Kyiv International Piano Competition 2019 (1st prize), Lyon International Piano Competition 2021 (2nd prize), International Piano Competition 'NEUE STERNE' 2022 (2nd prize) and International Piano Competition Francesco Paolo Neglia 2022 (1st prize).
She can be heard regularly at music festivals and in concert halls all over the world. As a soloist and ensemble member, Anna has performed on stages in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Croatia, Mexico, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Russia, the Czech Republic, Spain, Ukraine and the United States, where she made her debut in 2015 with a recital at Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) in New York. She has also performed as a soloist with various orchestras.
In addition to her concert career, Anna Leyerer is a dedicated teacher. She teaches piano in Vienna and Upper Austria. She also conducts piano master classes for the Golden Key Music Festival in Vienna and is a jury member at international piano competitions, including the WPTA Finland International Piano Competition, the International Performing Arts Competition in Moscow and the International Youth Talent Musician Competition in Hong Kong.
Born in the city of Penza, Russia, she began her early childhood piano and music education at the local music school and the Penza Music College under the guidance of Gennady Grossman. She then studied with Prof. Lev Shugom at the Saratov State Conservatory and completed her master's degree in 2012. After a short period of teaching at the Saratov Conservatory, she moved to Austria to continue her piano studies with Prof. Oleg Marshev at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz, where she completed her artistic master's degree with distinction in 2016. Anna recently completed the postgraduate course at the Music Academy 'Neue Sterne' in Hanover under the guidance of pianist and teacher Albert Mamriev. Her artistic development was significantly influenced by Prof. Michael Korstick, under whom she completed her Master of Arts in Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy at the Anton Bruckner University in 2019. Since then, she has continued to work with Prof. Korstick on refining her piano playing. Anna Leyerer also received artistic inspiration in masterclasses from renowned musicians such as Christopher Hinterhuber, Ewa Kupiec, William Grant Naboré, Nikolai Petrov, Stanislav Pochekin, Natalia Trull and Michael Voskresensky.
