Pianist Francesco Tristano, who was born in Luxemburg, has just signed a contract with "Universal Classics & Jazz," which enables him to record his first disk for Deutsche Grammophon. After Francesco Tristano completed his studies at Juilliard School in New York, he was able to perform in 2008 as "rising star" in numerous famous concert halls, such as Carnegie Hall, Vienna Musikverein and Birmingham Town Hall. His concert activity brought him together with the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin and the Luxemburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Francesco Tristano has played concerts in Concertgebouw Amsterdam and on a U.S. tour with the Russian National Orchestra. As an enthusiastic interpreter of contemporary music, Francesco Tristano has been distinguished with the first prize of the „Orléans International Piano Competition.“ His complete recording of Berioz' compositions has excited the critics. Francesco Tristanos' CD recording with piano concertos by Prokofiev and Ravel with Mikhail Pletnev and the Russian National Orchestra has been distinguished as "CD of the Month" in Grammophone.
By the way Tristanos first piano was a Bechstein.
