Elena Kolesnichenko was born in 1981 in Kharkiv, Ukraine, into modest circumstances. Her great musical talent was discovered when she was seven years old. As a result, she first attended the special music school for gifted children in Kharkiv and was later trained at the Moscow Conservatory. At the age of nine she played in front of the UNO in New York and at the Pope's residence in the Vatican.
As a typical representative of the Russian piano school, highly talented and technically perfect, Elena came to Germany at the age of 18, where she studied at the Hanover Music Academy with Prof. Vladimir Krainev. Her particular interest quickly became Ludwig van Beethoven, to whom she dedicated her first solo album in 2014. Her concerts always follow a dramaturgical concept, she dispenses with sensationalism and grand gestures, but puts the music in the foreground. With their crystal-clear attack, rhythmic vitality and passionate interactions with the instrument, they have impressed listeners in the Great Hall of the Cologne Philharmonic as well as in smaller concert halls.
