Andreas Grau and Götz Schumacher

Andreas Grau und Götz Schumacher, born in 1965 and 1966, have worked together as piano duo for over 20 years. They established theirselves as one of the most important piano duos worldwide.

Study at the Music Universities Dortmund, Frankfurt and Stuttgart; with Claude Helffer in Paris (DAAD scholarship), Friedemann Rieger and Renata Werner. Andreas Grau und Götz Schumacher have won prizes at Deutscher Musikrat, Bellini Competition and Schubert Competition Graz. Guest musicians at the Schwetzing Festival, Berlin Festwochen, Rheingau Music Festival, Piano Festival Ruhr, Salzburg Festival, concerts in Alte Oper Frankfurt, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Berlin Philharmonic, Cologne Philharmonic and others. Andreas Grau und Götz Schumacher have an active collaboration among others with Bayerischen Staatsorchester, Bertrand de Billy, DSO Berlin, Michael Gielen, Heinz Holliger, RSO Stuttgart and Zubin Mehta. Numerous CD recordings with col legno, distinguished by „Le monde de la musique“ and „Diapason“ for recordings of Stockhausen's "MANTRA." Andreas Grau und Götz Schumacher have recorded for col legno a CD on Bechstein with works by Beethoven, Mozart and Reger.
