Opening the 2013 series of the C. Bechstein Piano Evening Recitals Luiza Borac tours Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Düsseldorf with her „Hommage à Dinu Lipatti“. She presents her CD of the same title appreciating the early deceased legendary pianist with works and transcriptions that Lipatti had written himself or that were especially important to the confessing Bechstein lover.

Recognised by the international press as a „virtuoso of astonishing brilliance“ and a „poetic artist“ Luiza Borac has – not at least through her award-winning recordings for Avie Records – established herself as one of the most charismatic artists of her generation. A spectacular winner oft he BBC Music Magazine Award 2007 she continues to impress with a strong presence on stage, passionate interpretations, and an amazing playing technique.

Luiza Borac performs regularly in Europe and the U.S. In 1991 she attracted a great deal of attention when she filled in for Sviatoslav Richter at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and gained exuberant reviews. She played concerts at Bing Theater Los Angeles, BBC Radio 3 London, Barbican Centre London, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Konserthus Stockholm, the Aldeburgh Festival, Oslo Music Festival, and performed with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra Amsterdam, the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, the Utah Symphony Orchestra, and the Radio-Orchester Bukarest.

The Rumanian-born pianist began her musical training at age four. She completed her studies at the National University of Music Bucharest and later the soloist class of the Hanover University of Music and Drama – each with the highest honors. In Hanover she was a student of Professor Karl-Heinz Kammerling and worked for eight years as his assistant. Luiza Borac won more than 30 awards and prizes, including first prize at the Mendelssohn Competition in Berlin and the International Music Competition Viotti Valsesia, Italy, the silver medal at the International Piano Competition Gina Bachauer in Salt Lake City, the debut price of Carnegie Hall in New York, the "Prix d'Oslo", the "Grieg" prize, and the audience prize at the International Piano Competition Edvard Grieg in Oslo.

2009 Luiza Borac accepted the invitation of the Committee of the International Piano Competition Gina Bachauer to act as music ambassador for the project "Music-In-Our-Schools". She has performed and taught for a week in various schools in Salt Lake City and got about 3,000 children into classical music. The artist performed several benefit concerts for orphans and street children of Romania. With her recording featuring piano transcriptions by Liszt and Rachmaninov she supports orphanages in Romania. In 2011 she was awarded the Medaille d'Honneur and the title 'Ambassadrice de la Cite Episcopale' by the UNESCO for her commitment to Polio Plus, the major initiative of Rotary International to fight poliomyelitis. Currently Luiza Borac is PhD student in musicology at the University of Bucharest studying the piano works of George Enescu.
