Pianists Nicholas Angelich and Michel Dalberto (Photo) perform in collaboration with Renaud and Gautier Capuçon (violin and violoncello), Gérard Caussé (viola) and the Quatuor Ébène the complete chamber music by Gabriel Fauré at the Wigmore Hall London on April 30th, May 2nd and May 4th.

“France’s best musicians have presented a magnificent recording of Gabriel Fauré’s complete chamber music,” the German weekly Die Zeit recently wrote about the CD box released on the Virgin Classics label. The production brought together the crème de la crème of French chamber musicians, and the same ensemble will now perform Fauré’s complete chamber music live in three concerts in London’s Wigmore Hall, on 30 April, 2 and 4 May.

Nicholas Angelich and Michel Dalberto perform Fauré masterfully, making the C. Bechstein D 282 concert grand expertly tuned by Denijs de Winter sing in a sensitive and nuanced manner. And it’s no coincidence that the pianists chose Bechstein for the recording and the concerts, either: after all, Fauré himself was particularly fond of the brand.
